2017 NHRC Conference

The 12th annual Northern Health Research Conference was held in Thunder Bay, Ontario, in conjunction with Lakehead University.  This was the 3rd year that the conference took place in Thunder Bay. As in previous years, the research which was presented ranged from the molecular to the whole society. More than 100 participants from different research backgrounds and institutions came together to share their study findings, advance knowledge and network amongst themselves.

Amongst many highlights were outstanding keynote addresses by HSNRI’s Dr Carrie Bourassa entitled Hunter-Gatherer from the Wisdom Water, and by PSI Visiting Scholar, Dr Mohit Bhandari entitled Think Bigger! The New Culture of Research, as well as 22 oral and 52 poster presentations. In addition, 30 high school students from Thunder Bay and district came on Friday to learn about health research, health careers and the NOSM MD program.
