New Residency Programs Coming to NOSM University in 2026
NOSM University is proud to announce plans to launch five new PGME programs for the 2026 academic year. These additions reflect our continued commitment to advancing medical education in Northern Ontario and addressing the region’s evolving health care needs.
Pending final approvals, the following programs are expected to welcome their first cohort of residents in July 2026:
- PGY-3 Family Medicine – Palliative Care
- Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
- Cardiology
- Medical Oncology
- Emergency Medicine
- Obstetrics and Gynecology
These new training opportunities will expand the scope and depth of residency education at NOSM University, while supporting our mission to improve access to high-quality, patient-centered care across Northern Ontario and beyond.
