The CAMINO program was initiated by NOSM University’s Physician Workforce Strategy, with the educational training content collaboratively developed through the Continuing Education and Professional Development (CEPD).
Inspired by the University of British Columbia’s Coaching and Mentoring Program (CAMP), CAMINO’s online education modules and skills development workshops were designed to meet the unique needs of Northern Ontario’s healthcare community. Generous funding from the Northern Ontario Academic Medicine Association (NOAMA) has been instrumental in bringing this vision to light, for which we are profoundly thankful.
Our special thanks go to the mentors involved in CAMINO. Their commitment to supporting mentees, facilitating professional growth, and contributing to the improvement of rural education, practice, and research in Northern Ontario directly mirrors the goals and values of the CAMINO initiative. Their efforts in coaching, guiding, and providing developmental support to mentees are truly appreciated.
