This elective takes place at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre, offering learners the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a wide range of urological conditions. During the placement, learners will participate in clinics, ambulatory care, minor procedures, and major surgeries, providing valuable exposure to the operating room environment. Each placement is tailored to align with the learner’s specific interests, ensuring a personalized experience in urology. By the end of the placement learners will develop an understanding of the workup and management of various urological conditions. They will also have the opportunity to observe a range of surgical techniques commonly used in urology, gaining insights into these procedures and enhancing their overall clinical knowledge.

Northern Ontario Resident Streamlined Training and Reimbursement (Nor-Star) program
Funding is provided by Ontario Health for three groups of postgraduate learners:
- Residents from any Canadian medical school who are undertaking an elective.
- Residents and faculty from any Canadian medical school who are working with a locum.
- Residents in their last months of training who work as a locum on a restricted license under Northern Specialist Locum Programs.
