Community-based education is an effective blueprint for medical training and the delivery of programs geared toward health professionals that are intended to enrich and upgrade career training.

NOSM University’s development and success are premised on the principle of inclusiveness. The University was built in Northern Ontario, by Northern Ontario, and for Northern Ontario. Its two main campuses in Sudbury and Thunder Bay are supported by an expanding network of professional relationships with communities, health centres, and multiple teaching and research sites spread throughout Northern Ontario’s vast region of diverse cultures.

Affiliation agreements solidify relationships with its extended reach of professional partners.  To date, more than seventy have been signed with various centres across the North. This growing number of agreements, in addition to securing associations with hospitals, health centres and communities, enables students, faculty, and staff to become immersed in the culturally diverse region they are serving.
