Sally Monague

Cultural Coordinator

Sally Monague is an Anishinaabe Kwe from Gchimnissing, Beausoleil First Nation in Georgian Bay. Sally enjoys being on the land and water, spending time with family, friends, and community sharing good laughs about life and each other. A graduate of the Native Community Care; Counselling and Development (NCCCD) at Cambrian College and earned her Bachelor of Arts, in Humanities at the University of Sudbury, Laurentian University.

Sally began seeking  knowledge and understanding about culture and language in her adolescence. Sally has been able to build upon the teachings and shares lived experiences sharing her knowledge with learners, staff, and faculty. Sally strives to learn Anishinaabemowin (other languages too) and to learn more about the old ways to keep well-balanced and dis-ease free, and to seek wellness ensuring healing.

The teachings tell us to we need to teach with love and kindness open to all who want to join in the learning. All folks have a responsibility to learning and sharing as we work toward truth.

You can reach Sally Monague at IA.Culture@nosm.ca
