About Us

The Rehabilitation Sciences (RS) Program is a pan-Northern initiative administered by NOSM University.

Learners from Audiology, Occupational therapy, Physiotherapy and Speech-Language Pathology programs at our partnering universities apply through their home program to complete a clinical placement in Northern Ontario.

These placements expose learners to a variety of caseloads in a hands-on learning environment, helping to provide insight into the unique cultural and geographical challenges to health care practice and delivery in the North. Learners work closely with health care professionals in a variety of practice settings including large hospitals, small rural hospitals and community practices, Local Health Integrated Networks, school boards, children’s treatment centres and private practices. Community-based placements are located in urban and rural centres throughout Northern Ontario.
