Orientation Week Schedule August 26 -29, 2024

Monday August 26. Morning: Orientation Registration. Pick up your MD Backpack. Pick up NOSM U Student ID and passcard. MD learners - get your locker assignment. Pick up Dr. Antlers. Take a campus tour. Get your parking pass. Lunch will be on campus. Good eats while you meet and greet other learners, faculty, and staff! Sponsored by MD Management. Afternoon: Orientation to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion @ NOSM U - simulcast between both campuses. Evening: Board Game Takeover! Meet at the NOSM U student lounge for a game night. Bring a game and a snack to share! Tuesday, August 27. Morning: Basic Life Support (B L S) Course. 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM. All MD Learners required to complete. Evening: Free Time! Wednesday, August 28. Morning: City Scavenger Hunt. Get to know Thunder Bay/Sudbury traveling from place to place. Great give-aways and yummy tasting city fare! Lunch will be provided, sponsored by local Thunder Bay and Sudbury businesses. Afternoon: Introduction to Learner Support Services (LSS): Learner Support, accommodations, meet your Learner Affairs Officers, and Learner Wellness at NOSM U. Evening: An Evening in the Park. Bring your family - relax and enjoy a city event while in one of the beautiful green spaces in Thunder Bay/Sudbury. Thursday, August 29. Morning: Learner Services Fair. A casual open house-style event to learn about NOSM U Learner Services: Library Services, Indigenous Affairs, Francophone Affairs, Registrar's Office, Student Accounts, Learner Support Services, Alumni Services, Financial Aid, Wellness Services, Residency Programs, Rural and Community representatives. Lunch will be provided. Afternoon: Free Time! Evening: The Grand Finale. Chanterelle in Thunder Bay, Natura in Sudbury. A semi-formal event - a chance to dress up and bust-a-move with new found classmates who will become lifelong friends. Light reception, D J music service, cash bar.
