Boozhoo, Aaniin, Wachiya, Kwey Kwey, Hello!

Welcome to NOSM University!

The Indigenous Affairs (IA) Unit is excited to welcome you to NOSM U. The Unit is here to support you in your learning journey, no question is too large or small.

IA has a wide range of services and programs to support you and we are always welcome to new ways of knowing, doing and being. Your ideas and suggestions are welcome.

Some of the folks who are here to work with you include, the Cultural Coordinator, Sally Monague who can connect you with Elders and Knowledge Keepers and offers several Knowledge Sharing Circles throughout the academic year. The Community Coordinator, Scott Desmoulin who assists the Module Coordinators of the 1st year placement CBM 106. Scott works with staff, faculty, learners, and Local Community Coordinators to ensure an unforgettable experience in your first-year community placement. The Unit Coordinator, Sarah Jacko supports learners, staff, and faculty in developing ongoing support services and programs for learners. For instance, you may engage a professional development opportunity that can be coordinated and supported by Sarah. The Learner Recruitment & Support Coordinator, Candace Hardy supports learners with the coordination of peer support, leadership, access to university services and participating in community recruitment and engagement opportunities. There are two other members of the Unit, Director, Sam Senecal and Administrative Assistant (yet to be filled) who are also available to support you in your academic journey.
