It was with great sadness that we learned of the sudden passing of our friend, colleague and NOSM University Dryden Site Administrative Coordinator (SAC), Chuck Schmitt. From the early years of the Northern Ontario School of Medicine and the development of the MD program’s third-year Comprehensive Community Clerkship in Dryden, Chuck was eager to get involved. Phew: what a year! The latest President’s Report is all about momentum, of which we certainly had plenty this year. In some traditions around the holidays, people keep a running list of “naughty and nice.” In reflecting on the year that was, I have made a list of all the excellent things we achieved together in 2023. Established our first Board of Governors and our first Senate. Appointed our first Provost and inaugurated our first Chancellor at our first convocation.
