Congratulations NOSM Class of 2018!

On Tuesday, May 29 at Laurentian University, and on Friday, June 1 at Lakehead University, the Northern Ontario School of Medicine class of 2018 graduated with a joint MD degree of Lakehead and Laurentian.

The convocation ceremonies included the Hooding of graduates and recitation of the Physician’s Oath by the new graduates. They were each followed by a special NOSM Graduation Ceremony at which: a class representative (Luke Wu at Laurentian and Athena Young at Lakehead) provided insightful and entertaining retrospectives of four years at medical school; an alumni representative (Aidan Wharton in Sudbury and Ella Goodman in Thunder Bay) shared observations on what follows after graduation; graduates received NOSM certificates and gifts from Indigenous Affairs, Francophone Affairs and the Alumni Program; and Dr. Roger Strasser, Dean & CEO, was presented with a legacy gift to the School given by the class.

With this tenth graduating class, NOSM now has almost 600 MD graduates. Congratulations to our MD graduates on their accomplishments. We’re wishing them all the best for their future careers in medicine.
