Quality Improvement and Research Working Group
The Quality Improvement and Research Working Group (QIRWG) reviews and evaluates CEPD programs within a Quality Improvement framework to ensure they are conducted and administered in accordance with national continuing medical education standards. It is also a forum for discussion and support of research and scholarly activity initiatives related to CEPD.
Below are some tools that help move our quality improvement and scholarly activities forward in the context of this working group:
Northern Ontario Academic Medicine Association
The Northern Ontario Academic Medicine Association (NOAMA) was created to manage, distribute and administer the Alternate Funding Plan (AFP) funding on behalf of the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care and the Members.
The Members collectively and individually are concerned with:
- medical education;
- basic and applied health research;
- provision of clinical services to a northern widely dispersed population; and
- promotion of health services in the north.
Primary activities include disbursement of funding to Northern Ontario School of Medicine Physician Clinical Faculty for clinical (at the bedside) teaching, medical research, clinical innovation and recruitment of physicians to Northern Ontario.
