The Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Catherine (Cathy) Cervin as the School’s First Vice Dean, Academic, effective January 1, 2018. Sault Ste. Marie Raises $26,000 for Home-Grown NOSM Docs
Last month in Sault Ste. Marie, the Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM) celebrated the volunteers of the Bring a Doctor Home Hockey Tournament at an event called Be Awesome with NOSM. At this event, the tournament volunteers presented NOSM with a cheque for $26,000 to support student bursaries for medical students who consider Sault Ste. Marie home. More than 160 NOSM-Educated Family Doctors Now Practising in the North
Since 2011, more than 160 family physicians educated by the Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM) have begun to practice in Northern Ontario. This means that approximately 190,000 Northern Ontarians have improved access to a family doctor thanks to NOSM’s presence. NOSM Researcher Participating in Nationwide Haemophilus influenzae type a (Hia) Vaccine Study
Dr. Marina Ulanova, researcher and professor at the Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM), recently received a grant awarded by the Canadian Immunization Research Network (CIRN) for the project titled Studies in support of a new vaccine to prevent invasive Haemophilus influenzae type a (Hia) disease in Canadian Indigenous communities. The funding is provided by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) and the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) to the Canadian Immunization Research Network to support 15 research projects across Canada.
