Disclosing sexual orientation is often a difficult part of seeking medical treatment for people who identify as LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered, queer). Many members of the LGBTQ community report negative experiences when coming out to their health-care provider. Medical Students Receive Research Awards Totaling $96,000

The Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM) has awarded sixteen medical students with NOSM Dean's Summer Medical Student Research Awards, valued at $6,000 each. This is the eighth year that NOSM has awarded this grant to qualifying MD students.
