The next Northern Health Research Conference is being held in Kenora, Ontario on September 21-22, 2018. The Northern Ontario School of Medicine's Northern Health Research Conference—more commonly known as the NHRC—has been held annually since 2006. It is hosted in communities across NOSM's wider campus of Northern Ontario and provides an opportunity for researchers in the region to present their research and exchange research ideas. The Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM) maintains a commitment to providing information to rural, remote, Indigenous, and Francophone youth about health careers. This year, will mark the thirteenth time that NOSM has hosted week-long summer camps for high school students interested in a career in health care. Formerly known as NOSM’s Health Sciences Summer Camp, CampMed features new branding and a renewed focus on four core learning areas: interprofessionalism, leadership, culture, and clinical skills. Using a combination of web- and teleconference connectivity across Northern Ontario, the Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM) held its quarterly meeting of the Indigenous Reference Group (IRG) and Ogichidaang Gagiigatiziwin—NOSM’s Circle of Elders and Traditional Knowledge Keepers—on Tuesday, February 20.
