NOSM seeks agency applicationsfor Summer Studentship Program
The Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM) announces today that agencies may apply for funding to have health-care students work at their organization during the summer of 2019. This funding is available through NOSM’s Summer Studentship Program, which was established by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care to allow a limited number of regulated health-care students an opportunity to gain relevant work experience in their field of study. The Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM) recently installed an electric vehicle (EV) charging station. The EV station, generously donated by Bruce Power, has been installed outside NOSM’s medical school building at Laurentian University in Sudbury. This initiative is part of Bruce Power’s $5 million investment in funding to establish and support the Bruce Power Centre for Health, Environment and Radiation at the Northern Ontario School of Medicine. The Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Joseph LeBlanc as the Director of Indigenous Affairs, effective October 15, 2018. LeBlanc is a life-long Northern Ontarian and member of Wiikwemkoong Unceded Territory. Passionate about community health and well-being, he has experience working for a diverse range of organizations, including academic institutions, Indigenous organizations, charities and non-profits. He holds an Honours Bachelor of Environmental Studies in Forest Conservation, an Environmental Management Certificate, and a PhD in Forest Sciences from Lakehead University....
