Reporting

The OSCE Committee Member reports to the Associate Dean, Undergraduate Medical Education.

Responsibilities

  1. Develop cases and checklists for the OSCE and revising current question database
  2. Develop and implement a teacher training strategy to ensure interrater reliability
  3. Develop a strategy to ensure consistency between stations/sps
  4. Participate in all dry runs for Phase 1, which includes pre-examination of the physical exam patients
  5. Assist in training standardized patients
  6. Will be asked to participate in all OSCE examinations
  7. Participate in and develop OSCE re-sit and/or remediation assessments, if required

Qualifications

Education

  • MD with a license to practice medicine in Ontario

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Must have (or be eligible for) a faculty appointment at NOSM University
  • Preference will be given to NOSM U faculty residing in Northern Ontario

Language

  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English (verbally, written and comprehension)
  • French/Indigenous language skills would be considered asset

Remuneration

  • As per the stipendiary faculty remuneration process

Time Commitment

  • Three-quarters (0.75) of a day per month
