NOSM University announces the reappointment of Dr. Rob Anderson as the Associate Dean, Postgraduate Medical Education (PGME) for a second five-year term, effective January 1, 2025.
“NOSM University is thrilled to have Dr. Anderson continue leading, building and transforming residency programs with a focus on health equity and specifically designed for the needs of Northern Ontarians. I wish Dr. Anderson much success in his second term,” says Dr. Céline Larivière, Provost and Vice President, Academic.
During his first term as Associate Dean, PGME, Dr. Anderson provided strong leadership toward innovating health education through his work on accreditation processes and NOSM University’s historic residency program expansion—all while navigating the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic and the complexities of NOSM University becoming an independent university.
Dr. Anderson has practiced anesthesiology and critical care medicine at Health Sciences North (HSN) since 2006, helping create the Anesthesiology Residency Program, and serving as the Program Director for both the Anesthesiology and Family Practice Anesthesia (FPA) programs.
A passionate educator, Dr. Anderson also led the development of the Simulation Lab at the HSN Labelle Innovation and Learning Center and has worked with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) and the Royal College, developing and implementing Competency-Based Medical Education.
